HHC Hospitals Among Elite in the Nation in Joint Care

Hartford HealthCare hospitals Hartford Hospital, MidState Medical Center and St. Vincent’s Medical Center have each earned four Advanced Certifications from The Joint Commission, placing them among only six hospitals nationwide to achieve this distinction.
Certifications include:
- Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery (ACSS)
- Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certification
- Hip Fracture Certification
- Shoulder Replacement Certification
These accolades reflect Hartford HealthCare’s unwavering commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and comprehensive orthopedic care.
The certifications offered in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons — recognizes hospitals that implement evidence-based practices and foster consistent communication across the continuum of care, from surgical consultation through recovery.
Each hospital underwent an intensive, unannounced on-site review by a Joint Commission expert, who evaluated compliance with standards related to clinical care delivery, program management, patient engagement, and data-driven quality improvement.
This national recognition underscores Hartford HealthCare’s role as a leader in orthopedic innovation and patient outcomes.
